The true experience of Hvide Sande
The guided segway tours in and around Hvide Sande combine good storytelling, personal communication and the great feeling of moving effortlessly at eye level by the North Sea, on the harbor and along the fjord.
The way it works
At Segway Hvide Sande it’s as easy as it gets: everyone is helped to get started safely and well and shown the necessary consideration.
There is no specific minimum age, but it is preferred that children are accompanied by parents.
Common sense is navigated as much as specific rules.
You may already know the man behind Segway Hvide Sande from Beach Bowl in Søndervig. Bjarne Øgendahl – as he is known – was the manager of the large amusement and bowling center for a lifetime, where he (among many other things) had great success with his segway tours.
Bjarne is a born storyteller, a local like few others, and knows everything about the fishing boats, the people and the nicknames in Hvide Sande. In other words, you’re guaranteed to hear stories, rumors, anecdotes and background knowledge about the town that you won’t find anywhere else.
The tours are run in groups of a number that suits your level and needs, and guides are available in Danish, German and English.
Especially during the winter months, there may of course be days when the North Sea shows its teeth, but the segway tours can be adapted and carried out in virtually all kinds of weather.
It’s a good idea to dress for the conditions, preferably with wool or ski underwear on the cooler days.
There are overalls available and accessible toilets at the start and end point at Numitvej 2.
Segway tours run all year round
Nature and the pulse of the city change with the seasons: During the summer there are several daily tours, but also during the winter, in the dark months, a segway tour to the North Sea or around Hvide Sande is a great experience.
